So, yeah, I know this is a couple of days late. As is customary on Facebook, one should at least dedicate a status to the thanking of those who wished one a Happy Birthday. I figured I’d do one, too, but I wanted to take the time to figure out what to say.
First of all, thank you to all that did post the kind messages on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+ and LinkedIn. It was pretty awesome to see it all and it was nice to hear from friends again, if only briefly.
I do want to give a special shoutout to those who came out to celebrate Saturday night in Downtown Raleigh. I understand the situation for those who couldn’t make it. Not sure if that was conveyed properly through text message, but eh…
The outing in Raleigh made me appreciate the friends that I have come across since I moved to Durham back in 2012. Since then, with the job moves that I’ve made and the various activities that I partake in, I have been afforded the great opportunity to meet some fascinating people and have been able to do some amazing things with them these past three years. And to see a good representation of the past three years, spreading across various jobs, activities and interest, all sitting at the table eating and drinking with each other, it just made me feel so good.
I’m not a person who has many friends. However, when I find one, I try my best to do right by them as I never know when I may need to reach out to them for any help on an issue that comes my way. I’m just proud to say that I have some amazing friends who will come through for me through good and bad times.
Not only am I saying thank you, but I’m saying goodbye! Not goodbye to my friends, but just to RDU. Its been great to actually come back closer to home and be able to spend more time with family, but also get the opportunity to meet the aforementioned friends. And because of these friends, I’ll still be around. I just won’t have a house there anymore and I hope these same friends will lend me a couch, a pillow and a blanket if I ever need it. (just kidding) #notseriousbuttotallyserious
Again, thanks again for the birthday wishes and hope to see you guys soon!
For some, its actually real soon…
